What Just Happened
The Announcement, In Plain English.
On April 30, 2026, during its Q1 2026 earnings call, The Cigna Group announced it will exit the individual ACA marketplace effective January 1, 2027.
The decision affects roughly 369,000+ members in 11 states: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. If you currently have a Cigna ACA plan in one of these states, your coverage will not renew for plan year 2027.
The exit applies only to individual ACA plans. It does not affect Cigna’s employer group coverage, Medicare Advantage, supplemental, or international product lines.
“We did not make this decision lightly, and appreciate the importance of ensuring patients have continuity through the transition.”

Your Path Forward
Three Honest Paths Forward.
There’s no single right answer. It depends on your income, your doctors, your prescriptions, and your priorities. Here’s how we think about it — and how to take the next step on each.
01Option 1 Of 3
Stay On The ACA Marketplace
Keep Your Subsidy
85%
Of Marketplace Enrollees Get A Subsidy
If you currently receive a premium tax credit, stay on the marketplace to keep it. We compare every available carrier in your county and find one whose network includes your doctors and prescriptions.
Off-marketplace plans are ACA-compliant but not on HealthCare.gov. They often offer broader PPO networks and competitive pricing when you don’t qualify for a subsidy.
Dental, vision, hospital indemnity, accident, and short-term medical plans pair with your primary coverage to cover out-of-pocket costs. We’ll show you which add-ons actually fit your situation.
Cigna’s exit isn’t the first and it won’t be the last. The insurance market changes every year. What you actually need isn’t loyalty to a carrier — it’s loyalty from an independent agent who moves with you.
Carriers Come And Go. We Don’t.
Aetna left at the end of 2025. Cigna is leaving for 2027. Your agent shouldn’t.
NovaVida Group has been placing ACA coverage since well before any of these exits. When the next carrier leaves, we’ll be the same number to call.

1,000,000+ Aetna Members Helped
When Aetna exited the ACA market at the end of 2025, we helped families across 17 states find 2026 coverage.
We know exactly what to look for: which carriers picked up Aetna’s former PPO doctors, which silver plans got cheaper, where the subsidies shifted. We’re running the same playbook for Cigna members now.

We Verify Your Doctors First
Before you enroll, we confirm whether your doctors and prescriptions are in-network on the plans we recommend.
List your doctors when you fill out the form — or send a screenshot from MyChart. We’ll cross-check every provider against every plan in your county before we recommend anything. We can’t guarantee a specific doctor stays in any network, but we won’t recommend a plan without checking first.

Yes. On April 30, 2026, during its first-quarter 2026 earnings call, The Cigna Group announced it will exit the individual ACA marketplace effective January 1, 2027. The exit applies only to individual ACA plans, not to employer-sponsored coverage, Medicare Advantage, or supplemental products.
Which States Are Affected?
Eleven states: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. Approximately 369,000+ Cigna ACA members across these states will need to find replacement coverage for plan year 2027.
When Do I Need To Take Action?
Open enrollment for 2027 runs November 1, 2026 through January 15, 2027. Enroll by December 15, 2026 for coverage effective January 1, 2027. Enroll between December 16 and January 15 for coverage effective February 1, 2027. We recommend calling sooner rather than later — carriers and networks fill up, and waiting until December usually means longer hold times and rushed decisions.
Will I Keep My Premium Subsidy If I Switch Carriers?
If you stay on the ACA marketplace, your premium tax credit eligibility is based on your income and household size — not your carrier. Switching from Cigna to another marketplace carrier does not, by itself, change your subsidy. We will confirm your specific subsidy when we run your quote.
Will I Be Able To Keep My Current Doctors?
It depends on which carrier and plan you choose. Before you enroll, we verify whether your doctors and prescriptions are in-network on the plans we recommend, and help you find plans that include them. List your doctors on our form or upload a screenshot from MyChart — we will cross-check every provider against every plan in your county before recommending anything. We cannot guarantee a specific doctor stays in any network, but we will not recommend a plan without checking first.
Should I Stay On The Marketplace Or Go To A Private Plan?
If you qualify for a premium tax credit, the ACA marketplace is almost always the better choice because subsidies are only available there. If your income is too high to qualify for a subsidy, off-marketplace plans are worth comparing — they are still ACA-compliant, often offer broader PPO networks, and pricing can be competitive. We will run both for you.
What Does It Cost To Use Your Service?
Nothing. There is no fee for consumers. Licensed independent agents are paid commissions by the insurance carrier you enroll with, and those commissions are built into every plan whether you use an agent or not — so you pay the same premium either way. Using us costs you zero additional dollars.
Are You Affiliated With Cigna, CMS, Or HealthCare.gov?
No. CignaExit2027.com is owned and operated by NovaVida Group, an independent insurance agency. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Cigna Group, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, HealthCare.gov, or any government agency. We exist to help affected members find replacement coverage.
Did You Help Aetna Members Through Their 2026 Transition?
Yes. When Aetna exited the ACA marketplace at the end of 2025, affecting approximately 1,000,000+ members across 17 states, our agency helped affected families find 2026 replacement coverage. We are doing the same work for Cigna members now, drawing on lessons learned during that transition.
Do You Use Robocalls Or Automated Dialers?
No. We do not use robocalls, predictive dialers, or aggressive boiler-room call centers. When you call us, a licensed agent picks up. When we call you, it is because you specifically asked us to — and a real human is on the other end.
Does This Affect My Cigna Employer-Sponsored Or Supplemental Coverage?
No. Cigna’s exit applies only to individual ACA marketplace plans. If your Cigna coverage comes through your employer, or if you have Cigna dental, vision, accident, or supplemental coverage, those products are not affected by this announcement.
